Five people were killed, and one man seriously injured when two speed boats, traveling at a very high rate of speed, collided during the annual poker run on Lake Texoma Saturday.      Sunday, officials attempted to reconstruct the crash scene to determine what caused the fatal wreck. KTEN's Margaret Stokes reports.

Sunday afternoon, crews took the remains of the boats out of the lake for investigation.      Meanwhile, a crowd gathered to watch from the shore.

Sandra Hall said, "Yesterday, everybody was real excited. We were all down here at the end of the dock."

The annual Labor Day weekend poker run is a highly-anticipated event around the Lake Texoma area. But this year, it ended in tragedy. The 'Flash Gordan' boat  was being driven by 61-year-old Gordan Mineo of Rockwall,Texas. Mineo was the organizer of the Highrollers Poker Run. He was accompanied by his wife, 59-yr-old Anne Mineo, and another couple- 31-yr-old Amy Dawn Lane and her 25-yr-old husband, Justin Lane, both from Little Elm, Texas.

They had just picked up one of their poker cards and were speeding to the next pick-up point. In another jet boat, called "Nashville Catz," 54-yr-old Bruce Gibson and his 51-yr-old wife, Myra Gibson, stuck out to on-lookers. Sandra Hall said, "The 'Nashville Catz' boat came in, and she was all decked in a beautiful cowboy hat to match her lime green bathing suit because the boat was green. And I thought, what a nice lady."

What happened next is still under investigation..but troopers say the two boats collided, killing five out of the six people involved. Bruce Gibson was the only survivor.

Joe Tompkins said, "Its just a very strange accident, and I certainly hope it doesn't change the thing, because it's quite a big event up here."

Bruce Gibson remains in fair condition Sunday in a Dallas hospital. Troopers plan to reconstruct the two boats to determine the cause of the accident.
