SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — One person was taken to the hospital after being stabbed in Sherman early Thursday morning.

Sherman police said officers were dispatched to the Cedar Hollow Rehabilitation Center in the 5000 block of North US 75 just after 5 a.m. after a report of a female suspect acting suspiciously.

Police said before the first unit arrived, a man at the 142-bed center had been assaulted by the woman, later identified as 32-year-old Sharon Ashley Andolino.

The unnamed victim was taken to Texoma Medical Center in Denison for treatment, where he was last reported in stable condition.

About an hour later, Andolino — who has an address in Arlington, Texas — was located in Denison and was taken into custody.

The Cedar Hollow Rehabilitation Center said the victim was a resident in a statement posted to Facebook.

"The building is secure and safe, and access to it will be limited," the statement said.

Police said there is no danger to the public. Andolino is facing charges of causing serious bodily injury to an elderly person with intent.
