MARIETTA, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The Marietta Indians have hired their next head football coach.

Chuck Terry is headed east from Walters to take over the Marietta program.

Terry had a 32-35 record with the Blue Devils in his seven years in charge.

Most notably, he led them to playoff victories in 2022 and 2023 after the program lost seventeen straight at one point from 2018 to 2021.

He'll hope to have a similar effect on a Marietta program that finished 0-9 in 2023. The Indians last made the playoffs in 2017.

After his hire, Terry provided the following statement to KTEN:

"I felt at home when I interviewed and look forward to the opportunity to work with Marietta athletes in building a quality football program. I’m honored that Superintendent [Brandi] Naylor and the board of education chose my family to continue our coaching journey here. We can’t wait to become a part of this community."
