ADA, Okla. (KTEN) — An Ada man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 murder of a 17-year-old girl.

Tanner Dean Washington, 29, pleaded guilty in August 2022 to killing his then-girlfriend, Faith Lindsey.

Lindsey was reported missing to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office by her family in October 2019.

Investigators found Lindsey's blood in two of Washington's vehicles and a pair of sunglasses found in one of them.

"The defendant’s life sentence is part of our effort to seek justice and accountability for the tragic murder of an innocent young woman, who had a long and vibrant life ahead of her," said FBI Oklahoma City Acting Special Agent in Charge Sonia Garcia in a written statement.

The crime occurred in Pontotoc County, and despite extensive search efforts, Lindsey's body was never found.
