Looking Ahead - Sunshine returns for the weekend and so does that summer-like feel. Temperatures climb rapidly to the upper 80s and low 90s with increased humidity into the start of next week. Heat index values could approach the triple digits Tuesday, so make sure you are staying hydrated! The pattern trends more unsettled next week as the subtropical jet moves in across Texoma. South winds from the Gulf pull in moisture, ramping up that humidity. Speaking of, a level 2 out of 5 risk has been hoisted for Pontotoc, Coal, Atoka, Pushmataha, and Pittsburg counties in anticipation of all hazards being possible as a cold front passes through. This risk could change over the next few days, so stay tuned! Severe weather risks may also extend through Thursday as a warm front lifts in from the south.
