(KTEN) – Thousands of electric customers are without power for the second night in a row after severe storms rocked Texoma overnight April 27 to April 28.

According to poweroutage.us, as of 7 PM on April 28, nearly 3,000 customers remain without power in Carter County. Carter County has the most people in the dark heading into the overnight hours.

There’s good news, though! During the morning hours of April 28, nearly 17,000 customers were pitch black. More and more people have been able to get power restored throughout April 28 thanks to the hardworking linemen who are working day and night to get the lights back on for everyone.

Love and Murray counties have nearly 2,000 customers each without power.

As for this evening’s rounds of severe storms, the power outage risk remains scattered in southeastern Oklahoma, mainly in eastern Pushmataha, eastern Choctaw, eastern Lamar, and McCurtain counties. An isolated risk for power outages extends west to the US 69/75 corridor.
