(KTEN) — The Texas Department of Transportation has announced plans to replace three bridges in Fannin and Grayson counties.

Work is scheduled for these locations:

  • County Road 1202 at Brushy Creek (Fannin County)
  • County Road 4020 at Caney Creek (Fannin County)
  • Southmayd Road at Elba Creek (Grayson County)

Motorists will have to detour around these spots during construction.

Fannin County Judge Newt Cunningham said there are other bridges he'd like to see replaced as move people move to the region.

"The state just has so much money to allocate, and we're fortunate, in this instance, to have the state decide to allocate a bridge to us," he said.

The projects have a price tag of $1.5 million. Construction is set to begin April 23, and is expected to be complete one year from now.
