ATOKA COUNTY, Okla. (KTEN) — An investigation has been launched after the discovery of a body in rural Atoka County early Monday morning.

Sheriff Tony Head told KTEN that the situation unfolded around 4:30 a.m. after reports of a power outage along Southwest McGee Creek Road.

Utility workers reported finding the body after locating the problem spot.

The medical examiner's office was called in and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is now handling the case.
