BELLS, Texas -- Oops.

The sign said "13 ft. 11 in."

The truck hauling an oversized load was bigger than that when it drove under the railroad bridge on Wednesday morning.

And that's why a section of US 69 in Bells is now closed to traffic.

No one was hurt, but drivers were being diverted between State Highway 56 and FM 1897 [MAP]. Rosenstein Street is an alternate route.

Now structural engineers are taking a look at the damage to the overpass to determine when regular traffic on US 69 can resume, and when service on the Texas Northeastern Railroad line can roll again.
