ADA, Okla. -- Ada Main Street is helping out those who love a parade... but can't be around sirens.

This year's annual Christmas parade on Thursday, December 5 will have a "quiet zone" between Constant and Mississippi avenues.

Main Street director Amy Kaiser said a concerned parade-goer brought the siren concern to their attention.

"She had a child with auditory sensitivity issues. Loved the parade, but couldn't handle the sirens," Kaiser said. "The fire departments, all of the police departments... everybody has been great to help us out with this. So this quiet zone will allow you to enjoy the parade without the sirens."

The parade route begins at Main Street and Stockton Avenue and ends at East Central University's Centennial Plaza. And Kaiser noted that it's not too late to march along.

"I've already gotten quite a few entries, but it's not too late to enter, so get those entries in and come join us at the parade," she said.

The fun begins at 7 p.m., one week from Thursday.
