SHERMAN, Texas -- A Texoma developer is planning to build new homes on a 23-acre tract near Stone Creek Golf Club in Sherman.

Josh Holley has plans for 72 new homes adjacent to the club on the west side of US 75. Holley said pricing for residences in the Holley Heights Addition is still being planned.

"As far as the community outreach and their appreciation for our product has been overwhelming," he said. "We're just very excited to be able to give a good product to the community."

The development is designed to appeal to people who commute to work in Dallas and its suburbs due to its location along the highway.

"I'm excited to hear more about this project from Mr. Holley and see what he has planned there, and to see dirt start moving and homes going up," said Sherman Deputy Mayor Shawn Teamann.

The Holley Heights master plan also includes two-and-a-half acres for retail and commercial use.

"The only way that Sherman is going to be able to keep up with its low unemployment rate and with the industries that we have is to be able to get more homes on the ground so that we can have the adequate amount of people here to provide for our industry," Teamann said.

The goal is for construction to start within the next three months.
