ARDMORE, Okla. -- It's a full-on fright fest at Ardmore's Regional Park.

The city's Haunted Forest is now open to the public, and organizers have made sure the 2019 edition is even scarier than last year.

This year's attraction has some new scenes for people to try to get through, and even pays homage to some big screen classics.

"There's a very intense scene that you will recognize if you know anything about horror films," said Alicia Henry, assistant director at the Parks & Recreation Department. "It'll get you... and it might get you twice!"

The city hopes the Haunted Forest will be a Halloween tradition for years to come, especially since people from all over Texoma make the trek to Ardmore.

"We have a lot of people from the Sherman-Denison actually, and then we had some people visiting from Nebraska," Henry said.

But if you don't feel like getting scared this Halloween, there's also a carnival with plenty of games throughout the park. And all the proceeds go toward a good cause.

"There's a different civic group or charity that is out every night," Henry said.

The Haunted Forest will be open this weekend, next weekend, and on Halloween night.
