ADA, Okla. -- Jennifer Millan and her boyfriend were in their hotel room in Oklahoma City on Thursday evening. Nothing could prepare them for what happened next.

"The boyfriend went and opened the door and two subjects came in with guns," said Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian. "They took her hostage and kidnapped her from the motel room and brought her to Ada."

According to the police report, the kidnappers forced Millan to call her sister for a ransom.

"She had received a call wanting her to bring $5,800 to the Ada Walmart to get that victim released," the sheriff said.

Meanwhile, Pontotoc County Deputy Todd Young received a call from Oklahoma City police about the case and began investigating. Young was able to track down Millan and the kidnappers to a house in Ada on Thursday night.

"He went to that address, and at that time made contact with the victim and was able to take her into protective custody," Christian said.

The homeowner, Serena Bounds, told police that her granddaughter, Ashley Norman, had brought Millan to a mobile home at that location with the other kidnappers. The report goes on to say the kidnappers were unsuccessful in taking Millan from the house.

They left and never returned.

Christian said Oklahoma City police will now take over the case.

"We're completed," he said. "We've taken statements from all parties involved and provided that to Oklahoma City."

Christian praised Deputy Young for the job he did in recovering the kidnapping victim.
