Fiery crash claims life in Choctaw County

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Okla. -- One person died in a fiery accident on US 70 near Hugo on Wednesday morning.

Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park confirmed to KTEN that a man in a pickup truck died in the wreckage about two miles east of Hugo.

Trooper Matt Stacy, who investigated the incident, said the truck was eastbound when it left the roadway near County Road 4270 then hit a utility pole and embankment around 8:20 a.m.

The driver was pinned in the fiery wreckage. His identity has not been determined.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
