SAVOY, Texas -- It's not something Texoma motorists see every day: A bobcat in the middle of State Highway 56 near the Grayson-Fannin County line.

A motorist who spotted the cat managed to snap a picture of the feline, which was promptly shared on social media.

We're told the bobcat had been hit by a passing car; that's why it was in the road.

Savoy resident Maria Williamson also spotted a big cat recently.

"I saw a baby bobcat in my neighbor's yard," she said. "No one believed me."

Unfortunately, this story has a sad ending  The bobcat had to be euthanized due to its injuries.

Texas Parks and Wildlife says bobcats can be found throughout the state.
