PURCELL, Okla. -- A motorist was killed early Friday morning when his vehicle veered off of Interstate 35 and crashed into a mobile home.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety said troopers are still trying to determine why 66-year-old Lawrence Harvey Williams of Byers, Oklahoma, drove off the freeway around 2:45 a.m. near mile marker 91 in McClain County.

Williams was trapped in the wreckage for more than three hours. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

KFOR reported that there was someone in the home, but that person was not injured.
