DENISON, Texas -- It's the first day of summer, and boaters are sure to be heading to the lake.

And that just got a little easier.

The Denison spillway boat ramp reopened on Friday. This is the only public boat ramp open on Lake Texoma. It was the last one to close due to lake levels rising.

Its opening means that levels are receding, and we should expect more ramps to open soon.

"It's really exciting because I love to go tubing and I love being on the water and with all the boat ramps closed you can't really, there's no where to put your boat in the water," said Andru Myers, who was among those taking advantage of the spillway ramp on Friday. "Now that it's opening up, you can finally get those boats in and have fun and just get out on the lake."

Several campgrounds are also starting to reopen, but some are still canceling reservations through July 8. Be sure to check and see if your campground is open if you made plans for the 4th of July holiday weekend.
