DENISON, Texas -- KTEN News has obtained new information about Jeremy Stephenson, the Denison man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a child over the weekend.

The suspect has had a series of short-term public service jobs in Collin and Wise counties in recent years.

According to a person status report from the State of Texas, Stephenson received his peace officer license on March 21, 2011.

He then spent two months as an officer with the Frisco Police Department.

On August 27, 2012, Stephenson was hired as an officer at the Bridgeport Police Department. He left the force two weeks later.

The McKinney Fire Department confirmed that Stephenson worked there as a firefighter from December 2018 until May 7. We don't yet know why he is no longer with that agency.

Stephenson, 30, was arrested Saturday by Grayson County deputies and charged with indecency with a child. He was released on a $30,000 bond.

The arrest stemmed from a call in the 200 block of Golf Walk Circle in Denison. The victim was younger than 14, and sheriff's department deputies said there may be more victims.
