DURANT, Okla. -- A Spanish industrial firm is bringing its business to Texoma.

Bryan County has already added 740 jobs in the past year, and now Tubacex Group is building its new North American headquarters in Durant.

When complete, the 150,000 square foot facility will manufacture steel tubing and nickel alloy tubes for a variety of industries.

"They will employ 140 persons at average pay of $55,000 a year," said Paul Puntz of the Durant Industrial Authority. "Some of the jobs are over $100,000 a year. We are looking forward to them to completing their plan and getting in operation."

Tubacex already has a location in the U.S, but Puntz said they really want to focus on Texoma.

"This one will have more capabilities, more complex processes, and this will actually be the U.S. headquarters of Tubacex Group," he said.

The $33 million Durant plant is expected to begin manufacturing by the end of this year.
