BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. -- A Denison man was found dead in the Red River on Sunday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said two men were fishing below the Denison Dam on Saturday night when one went missing around 11 p.m.

They said a hat belonging to 28-year-old Louis Jackson was found floating in the water.

Rescue crews began searching on Sunday morning and recovered Jackson's body in about 7 feet of water shortly after 4 p.m.

Troopers said Colbert and Cartwright firefighters assisted in the search.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stopped generating the flow of water from the dam during the search.
