DENISON, Texas -- The historic Hotel Denison is getting a makeover.

The site was purchased by Casey Shires and Steve Rumsey with Cross Development. The seven-story brick structure, Denison's tallest, will undergo a total renovation including new floors, walls and ceilings.

Currently, construction is limited to the ground floor; we're told the roof will be next.

"Their guidelines from the state and the federal guidelines that you have to go by, you have to restore it to look just like it did when it was new," said Denison Development Alliance president Tony Kaai.

He added that renovations to the 95-year-old landmark should be complete in three years.
