DENISON, Texas -- Multiple injuries were reported Thursday morning in a crash on US 75 in Denison near the Crawford Street exit.

Denison police said one southbound vehicle apparently clipped another, which then caused a third vehicle to become involved.

One of the vehicles rolled and was upside-down on the side of the busy highway.

Police said two children and their mother in one car and two elderly adults in a second vehicle were taken to hospitals for treatment, but their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Southbound traffic was backed up for more than two miles while police and emergency medics attended to the injured and removed the wreckage.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
