DAVIS, Okla. -- In spite of all the rain, Turner Falls Park is anticipating big crowds for the long Memorial Day weekend.

The park saw some flooding over low water crossings and was closed to visitors early Monday afternoon. It reopened on Tuesday morning.

"Our creeks are running at about capacity max about what we can run people through, and so just a little bit of rain changes things in a hurry," park manager Billy Standifer said.

He added that there was no flooding around campsites and recreational vehicle areas.

The park traditionally sees a big bump in business during holidays and long weekends, and Standifer expects to reach capacity before 8 a.m. for the Memorial Day extravaganza.

"I know all of our RV sites are full; most of our shelter and cabins, I think, are already rented," he said.

If there is severe weather this weekend, the park will be closed, but staffers are waiting to see how it plays out.
