MADILL, Okla. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is training new personnel about dealing with inmates at the new county jail.

The facility incorporates state-of-the-art features, including a control center to help monitor inmates. Even with those features, Sheriff Danny Cryer said jailers can't always rely on technology.

"There's still going to be those times we have to go hands-on with an inmate," Cryer said. "If we can't talk them down, then these guys are being trained this week on how to defend themselves and keep themselves safe while subduing an inmate that may be out of control."

Detention officers will continue their training through the rest of the week.
