SHERMAN, Texas -- An Oklahoma man has been jailed in Sherman on multiple child sexual assault charges.

James Mosley, 48, was arrested Monday by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. He is facing four counts of sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

"Since the Grayson County grand jury has returned this indictment against him, he will either retain or the court will either appoint an attorney for him," Grayson County District Attorney Brett Smith said. "He'll have an arraignment, then the case will be set for a plea conference, and then we will go from there."

The crimes allegedly committed by the Mead, Oklahoma, resident occurred in December 2016.  The indictment says the children referenced in two of the counts were younger than 14; the other three counts involved children younger than 17.

"I can't get into specifics about the allegations at this time," Smith said. "We don't want to give out any information that might compromise the integrity of the investigation."

Mosley's indictment was released early Wednesday morning.

"This is still a continuing and ongoing investigation as it relates to Mr. Mosley," the district attorney said.

Mosley is being held on a $400,000 bond.
