Spelling bee champion crowned in Grayson County

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. --  A new spelling bee champion has been crowned in Grayson County. 

Kloe Scott, an 8th grader from Howe Middle school was crowned as Grayson County's 2019 Spelling Bee champion.

The spelling bee was hosted at Grayson College's south campus in Van Alstyne Tuesday. 

Scott competed against students from  Grayson County schools including Sherman and Van Alstyne. 

Scott went 24 rounds in the spelling bee before winning. The winning word was Piazza.

    For the third consecutive year, KTEN is participating in a national adoption drive that matched up more than 76,000 pets with loving new homes last year.
