The Texas Legislature is back in session at noon on Tuesday, when 150 members of the Texas House and 31 members of the Texas Senate will be sworn into office.

There's a lot to watch after the November midterm elections. For the next 140 days, lawmakers will be considering nearly 6,000 bills, but a few merit special attention.

Remember in November Texas Democrats flipped 14 seats in the Legislature, and one of their priorities will be school finances. Another hot topic will be property taxes.

We'll also be watching the selection of a new Speaker of the House, which most observers say will likely be Republican Dennis Bonnen.

The Oklahoma legislature will reconvene on February 4.
