SHERMAN, Texas -- A new Braum's restaurant location at a busy southside Sherman intersection could be just a taste of what's to come.

City Council members say the Sherman Crossroads project has the room needed for big box retailers, but no additional plans have yet been formally presented for the site at the northwest corner of U.S. 75 and FM 1417, about 12 miles south of Sherman Town Center.

"That corner is going to be a compliment to our Town Center," Council member Shawn Teamann said. "I think if you see stores opening multiple locations, it's because the demand has increased so much that they need to have adequate coverage for the area."

Teamann said there is nothing specific to report yet on what stores will be coming to the Sherman Crossroads development.

The new Braum's passed through Sherman Planning and Zoning last week, so their next step will be to go before the Sherman City Council for final approval.
