Denison's street overlay program continues work


DENISON, Texas -- Cracked pavement, dips in the road, and potholes can be found on the roads in Perrin Estates, but that will soon change when the city of Denison completes their street overlay program.

Crews started working on Denison’s next phase of problem streets early Tuesday morning. The project costs just over $465 thousand and is planned to last around ninety days, depending on weather.

The first roads that are seeing a facelift are Twining, Perishing, MacArthur, and Mundt circle- located in Perrin Estates- but there are a number of roads scheduled for repair.

 Residents in Perrin Estates said they hope this will improve their neighborhood.

"I still think it's kind of long overdue to tell the truth, but I'm not angry. I'm just thankful to the Lord that they chose this area to do this in,” said Perrin Estates resident Berneola Jones.
