ANNA, Texas -- The heroism of Anna police Officer Brandon Blair is going viral.

It was a life-or-death moment on September 7 when Blair stopped to help a female motorist whose car ran off the road on a curve and hit a tree during a heavy rain.

He was comforting Meghan Herriera when the driver of a pickup truck rounded the sharp corner and lost control -- headed right for Blair and the motorist.

"It was literally like 'Final Destination,' like in movies when you see people grab and run," she said.

The squad car's dash camera captured the drama of what happened next: In a split-second, Blair grabbed Herriera and fled to safety.

The truck broadsided the woman's car. The recording is still hard for Herriera to watch.

"It's something that you can't see in the video, but it was seconds -- within seconds -- I could have been gone," she said, crediting her life to Officer Blair.

"I feel like if the scenario was different... if it was on a different road, or one of our major highways, I felt like we wouldn't have been able to get out of the way," Blair said. "I'm very thankful and humble that we were able to avoid getting struck by another car and I was able to return home to my family."

Blair said this video should be a lesson for all drivers.
