Gunter Duo to be Inducted Into TABC Hall of Fame


SAN ANTONIO, TX. -- A pair of Gunter Lady Tigers are bound for the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.

Jill and Amy Sutton led Gunter to a state runner-up finish in 1997, capping off their high school careers. That was well after they left their mark on the community and the program.

The All-State twins continued their careers at TCU after their time in Gunter, which ended with a career record of 131-9.

The two will be inducted on Saturday, May 18th of 2019, in San Antonio.

Jill Sutton-Dodd, Player, Gunter - Played in three State Tournaments. Selected All-State and All-State Tournament in 1995, 96, 97. Tied State Tournament record for most 3 pointers made in a game. Made 342 3 pointers In her career. Career record 131-9. Led state in 3 pointers made.

Amy Sutton-Porter, Player, Gunter - Played in three State Tournaments. And was selected All-State 3 times, All-State Tournament 3 times. Selected 2A Player of the Year in 1997. A four year starter. her career record was 131-9. She made 241 3-pointers in her career. and was a 3 time District MVP.
