Juvenile passenger dies in Garvin County motorcycle crash

GARVIN COUNTY, Okla. -- One person was killed and another was injured when a pickup truck and a motorcycle collided just east of Elmore City on Thursday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the incident happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 1650 and County Road 3160.

According to the initial report, a juvenile male passenger aboard the Yamaha Virago motorcycle, died in the crash. The name of the victim was not released.

The driver of the motorcycle, 41-year-old Earnest Lee Knight of Elmore City, was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital and was last reported in fair condition.

Russel Brown, 20, of Elmore City, was driving the pickup truck. He was said to have refused treatment at the scene.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
