Sales tax to continue in Ardmore; other election results

Special elections were held in communities across the KTEN viewing area in Oklahoma on Tuesday, with your tax dollars on the line... from school bonds to road improvements.

In Ardmore, voters approved an extension of the city's quarter-cent sales tax by a 56-44 percent margin.

Also winning were propositions in Healdton and and Tishomingo.

Sixty-four percent of voters in Roff gave the go-ahead to a school bond issue, and in Rattan, a $650,000 bond issue to build a new gymnasium won by 111 votes. In April, Rattan voters defeated a similar proposal by just 12 votes.
