ARDMORE, Okla. -- Have you heard all the noise in Ardmore?

Up to 1,000 motorcycles are roaring through town this weekend for the Central Harley Owners Group Rally.

They set up headquarters at the convention center, but on Thursday evening the live music and vendors were open to the public on Main Street, where hundreds of two-wheelers lined the depot.

"You know when you're out there riding, all your senses are involved in it," said Donna Hingtgen, who has been coordinating Harley rallies for years. She said there's nothing like it.

"You feel the wind... you hear, you smell the flowers going by... you know, all the riders going on, so you notice the little things," Hingtgen said.

Meanwhile, at the convention center, it's all about fun, and (of course) showcasing Harley-Davidsons. But bikers say this weekend is all about the ride.

"I've been riding motorcycles since I was 12 years old,"  Ron Southerland told us. "I'm 65 now; it just kind of gets in your blood, you know. Riding in the wind, it's relaxing to me, and it's just enjoyable."

The H.O.G. Rally could bring up to 1,000 bikers to Ardmore, and even more revenue for the city.

"Ardmore is a great community. They love to have the Harleys here," Hingtgen said. "We have been here three times before. A rally like this will bring easily $1 million to a community the size of Ardmore."

She added that while the rally is for H.O.G. members only, there are plenty of things for the community to enjoy, including stunt shows and a parade of bikes that will roar through Ardmore on Saturday afternoon.

"It's going down to Commerce, down Broadway, and will end up on Main Street," Hingtgen said. "We love to wave to the kids; they love to see the motorcycles."

Stunt shows behind the convention center will happen several times throughout each day.

The rally continues through Saturday.
