Man Arrested During Walmart Shooting Incident Pleads Not Guilty


ADA, OK -- Update:  A man arrested after an officer involved shooting in Pontotoc County pleaded not guilty to his charges in court today.

26-year-old Cordell Tebee of Konawa was arrested Friday night after police say he stole some beer from the Ada Walmart and almost hit an officer during his get away.

 Ada police were responding to the call whey they say Tebee ran out of the store.

The OSBI says an Ada officer and and off duty reserve officer fired shots at Tebee's getaway car after it nearly hit one of the officers as it sped out of the parking lot.  

Tebee was arrested after a short pursuit.  He's charged with suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and eluding police officers.  


No one was hurt during the incident.  


Tebee is being held in the Pontotoc County Justice Center. He is set to reappear in court next month.


The osbi is investigating the shooting.  


ADA, OK -- One man is in custody Friday night after an officer involved shooting at the Ada Walmart.

Police arrested Cordell Tebee after they say he resisted during a shop lifting arrest, and an officer's gun went off in the struggle.

Police say no one was hurt and that the incident is now being investigated by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations.
The officers name has not been released.
