SHERMAN, TX -- It wasn't independence day quite yet, but fireworks were going off with a bang in the Sherman night sky Thursday.

Thousands of Texomans ventured out to Pecan Grove West park to take in the sights of a pre-4th July fire works show.

People stopped their vehicles and put out their chairs all along FM 1417 from highway 82 to Lamberth and just about anywhere within sight of the fireworks to watch.  Even on the side of highway 82 itself.

Tonight's show is Sherman's fifth installment of the annual Lights On The Lake independence day celebration.
