SALEM, Va. - Shortstop Haley Strawn and outfielder Laramie Beal have been named to the NCAA Division II National Finals All-Tournament team following the completion of the national championship tournament.
The Savage Storm posted a 2-2 record at the tournament in its first ever trip to the National Finals, finishing third in the tournament after entering the Central region as the number seven seed.
Beal, a sophomore from Coalgate, Okla., led Southeastern with a .417 average on the weekend. She posted a double and the team's only home runs while driving in four runs and scoring twice.
She slugged .750 over four games and played an error-free right field.
Strawn, a junior from Moore, Okla., hit .364 on the tournament with a double and two runs scored with a .417 on-base percentage and a .455 slugging mark.
She also wowed in the field where she was busy in her shortstop position, posting a fielding percentage .955 clip on 22 chances while throwing out 18 and making several notable game-saving plays.
As a team the Storm hit .310 on the weekend, while the SE pitching staff held opponents to a .237 average.
