Sulphur Man Who Escaped Jail Was Starting 8-Year Sentence

SULPHUR, OK -- Deputies continue to search this weekend for a Sulphur man they say escaped from the Murray County jail.

The inmate was sentenced to eight years in prison in March and was awaiting transfer to the Department of Corrections.

Online records show his motion for the judge to review the sentence for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon was denied on Thursday.

Sheriff Darrell Richardson says 52-year old Roger Goodall disappeared around 6 AM on Friday.

Deputies say Goodall was a trustee with the jail and was taking out the trash when he took off during a shift change.

Goodall is described as a white man with graying hair, he's 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

If you know where he might be you're urged to contact the Murray County Sheriff's Office.
