Southeastern softball gets sent off to National Championship
DURANT, OK -- The Southeastern Lady Storm softball team is off for Virginia as they'll compete this weekend for a national title.
They're the first softball team in program history to ever make it this far and several Storm faithful would be on hand this morning to send them off.
The school only has one NCAA national championship. That was in 2000 thanks to the baseball team.
No matter what happens in salem they're already captured the heart of the campus.
"We're just greatly appreciative of their service. If they were able to bring home a national championship, we'd be tremendously proud of them. We're tremendously proud of them today and will be no matter what the outcome is. So we're just excited about this time and look forward to what the next few days hold," director of athletics Keith Baxter said.
