SHERMAN, TX -- A police chase involving an erratic driver in Sherman ends in a crash.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police say a driver was bouncing off the guard rails on Highway 75 near the Lamar and Houston Street exit, but wouldn't pull over for a traffic stop.

Officers deployed "spike strips" near the F.M. 1417 frontage road, catching one of his tires.

On Friday, police identified the suspect as Billy Neal III, 26, of Sherman. He faces charges of DUI and evading arrest and was released on $13,000 bond.

Police say he went back towards town, still driving with the bad tire, and eventually crashed out at the corner of Highway 11 and Ida Road, or F.M. 697, taking out a stop sign before ending up in the trees.

We're told the driver was being uncooperative as he was taken to the Grayson County Jail. He's suspected of drunk driving and police are investigating.
