DENISON -- Yellow ribbons are popping up around the Grayson College Main Campus as the Veterans Affairs office prepares for a series of activities for Veterans, starting on Monday, Veterans Day, with a 7:45 a.m. flag raising at the Administrative Services Building.

"It is our goal to honor all of our Veterans whether students or staff," said Cindy Powell of the Veterans Affairs office. "This week of celebration will highlight the on-going programs that the College has to support our students who have served in the military."

The following activities are planned:

All week

The Veterans Affairs Student Navigators will have a banner available to give everybody a chance to write a brief "Thank A Veteran!" message.

Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 (Veterans Day)

7:45 AM - Honoring our Flag - in front of the Administrative Services Building - Campus police officers, military veterans themselves, will raise the American Flag while the GC Music Department provides the 'wake' up music.

8:00 AM - All veterans are invited to stop by the Veterans Affairs office in the Bridge for a muffin to go on their way to class. The muffins will be prepared by our Culinary Arts Department and are free to veterans while supplies last.

10:40 - 11:00 AM - The public is invited to join the students, faculty and staff under the Bridge as the GC Music Department will once again provide some very patriotic entertainment; College President Dr. Jeremy McMillen will address our veterans.
