DENISON, TX -- The Denison Yellow Jackets are back on top in District 13-4A. But it didn't come without labor.
They'd trail the predicted district champs two scores early, but would some how find a way to come back and win.
The district was supposed to be Wylie's and Lovejoy's for the taking.
They're one win away from clinching a their first playoff spot since 2009 and control their own destiny so to speak for a district title.
It seems like the winning traditions of old are on their way back to D-Town and the team and community couldn't be more excited.
"We've got one of the most historic traditions in the state of Texas, and we're getting it back. We're getting it back the right way. The kids are working, they're out, they're doing things right, we're getting better, we're becoming better teammates everyday. So, I was very, very proud of them, I was proud of the way they acted, I was proud of the way they acted on the sidelines," head coach Chad Rogers said.
They'll hit the road to Greenville for a 7:30 kick-off Friday night.
