TEXOMA---- A Pottsboro man who was critically injured in a motorcycle crash about two weeks ago has died. After a long fight, Jesse Elliott passed away over the weekend.

Police say Elliott had stopped to let traffic pass before turning left into his work located on FM 1417 when a car rear-ended him.

He was taken by CareFlight from the scene to Plano Medical Center in critical condition.

After 15 days, he lost his fight and passed away.

Now those closest to him are holding a memorial benefit in his honor.

They will be paying tribute to him and raising money for his foundation, "The Jesse Elliott Motorcycle Safety Fund."

Funds will be used to educate drivers about how to safely share the road with motorcyclists.

The benefit will be held at 10 a.m. on November 9th at the Sherman Elks Lodge #2280 and will start with a celebration of life memorial service.
Several other activities will also be going on throughout the day.

At 1 p.m. attendees will leave on a ride to the accident scene and place a motorcycle fatality awareness red cross there.
