DICKSON, OK -- There is something in the water in Dickson because Jeremy Reed's Comets have done the unthinkable. For the first time in school history they're 6-0.
Just three seasons ago Reed took over a 1-8 team that won zero district games. His first season they'd improve by two wins, but still couldn't get a district 'W.' Last fall wasn't much better as they'd finish 4-6 with just one lone district victory.
Flash forward to Week 7 in 2013: they have yet to lose and the town is a buzz with Comet fever.
The road will continue to get tough, but they're ready for any challenge.
"It feels great. It's just rewarding for our kids and community. We've come a long ways in the last few years and it's just nice to see some payoff from all the things that the kids have put in," Reed said.
They'll host Purcell Thursday night.
