Station Update: KTEN Struck by Lightning

Posted: Updated:

VIDEO EXPLANATION:  http://youtu.be/RtxnmPFP5AA

TEXOMA (UPDATE) -- As you know, we have experienced a major lightning strike at our main studio at 10 High Point Circle, Denison Texas. A lot of our equipment was damaged. Our engineers have been working nonstop to repair the damages and get us back on the air as quickly as possible.

Since our last update we have been able to get NBC programing back, and we are working on ABC and CW. We are back on Direct TV, Dish and Cable One. Our goal is to be fully functional as quickly as possible and to begin airing our newscasts as early as today. We do have a lot of work ahead of us but rest assured we are working on the problems as quickly as possible.

No one was injured during the lightning strike over the weekend. Again, it's a process that is taking time, but we are committed to repairing the damages and getting back to full functionality as quickly as possible.

March 24, 2013

TEXOMA -- As you may have noticed, KTEN, ABC Texoma and the Texoma CW are down.

Last night, our station took a direct hit from lightning. The lightning struck the top of our tower and took out multiple subsystems right before midnight. The strike was heard up to twenty miles away from the station.

Right now, we have limited broadcast capabilities and our network feeds are unavailable. The station lost a lot of equipment and engineers are working hard to replace everything that was lost.

We're working as quickly and efficiently as we can to get the station up and running. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused our viewers.
