Sherman boys basketball team gears up for tie-breaker

Posted: Updated:

SHERMAN, TX -- The Sherman boys will hit the road to Lucas to take on Royse City in a tie breaker. Winner advances to the bi-district round against Marshall, loser hangs up the sneakers.

These two split this season in their two meetings with Royse beating the Bearcats on their home floor by a dozen before Christmas break and Sherman getting them back at their place by eight in their most recent.

The athletic bunch is hard at work in preparation and knows what it will take to get the 'W.'

"We need to stay focused, we need to keep accelerating at the rate we've been accelerating at, and we need to play as hard as we can. We don't need to let this one slip by us or this will be the last time for us seniors," said senior guard J.T. Luper.

"Our goals really, we don't have like a specific place we want to get to, we want to just make sure that we win every game possible that we can win," added senior forward Stetson Sullivan.

"Stay focused, take good shots, play hard on defense and we should come out with a win," concluded senior post Jerry Sims.
