SHERMAN -- Sherman police have released an update on the case of a Sherman woman who was reported missing early Thursday evening.
"Sarah Lindsey Swaim was reported missing by her boyfriend, Gregory Bailey, in the evening of February 7, 2013. Evidence inside her residence led officers and detectives to believe that Sarah may have been the victim of foul play. An investigation was begun immediately, and detectives of the Sherman Police Department worked continuously through the night, assisted by Texas Ranger Brad Oliver, to locate Sarah. An intense search was made in the areas surrounding Sarah's residential neighborhood during the morning of February 8, 2013. The search was conducted by members of the Sherman Police Department, Sherman Fire Department and students of the Hazco Fire Academy.
The body of Sarah Lindsey Swaim was discovered in a rural area of Grayson County during the afternoon of February 8, 2013. The evidence discovered during the investigation provided probable cause to believe that Sarah's boyfriend had murdered her. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and Gregory Shane Bailey (w/m, 31 yoa) was arrested at 1034 Star St., Denison, TX., at 5:40 p.m. on February 8, 2013 by detectives of the Sherman Police Department. Bailey was booked into the Grayson County Jail for the offense of Murder."
