GRAYSON COUNTY, TX - Fire officials say dry grounds and high winds can be a dangerous combination for spreading fires.
Grayson County has been under a burn ban for the last 3 weeks, but the Grayson County fire marshal says they've seen several violations in just the last few days.
People have been burning anything from tree limbs to hay and trash.
If you violate the burn ban you can be fined anywhere from 250 to 5 hundred dollars.
"Drought conditions are there, they've been there all summer and now you're dealing with fall foliage, fall on the ground, which is dead leaves, you've also got all the dead summer grass," said Grayson County Fire Marshal, Kevin Walton.
The Grayson County commissioners will discuss the status of the burn ban at their meeting Monday morning.
To see if your county is under burn ban you can check the county web site or call the fire marshal's office.
