DENISON, TX--- The Sean Lashley Foundation is hosting their first ever benefit this Saturday at Smitty's in Denison.

The foundation promotes and supports local music and artists. It was created in honor of Sean Lashley. Lashley is a well known artist, music lover and carpenter whose life was cut short last March.

"He was very giving and very loving. Anything that had to do with creativity, whether it was music, art or anything creative, he was ready to get involved in," good friend of Lashley, Kevin Sims said.

Four local bands will be playing at the benefit and there will be door prizes, T-shirts and koozies. Sean's artwork and other items will be auctioned off in a silent auction. The money raised Saturday night will go towards helping Texas artists and music.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will run until 2:00 a.m. For more information about the event, you can go to the foundation's Facebook page here.
