SHERMAN, TX -- The Sherman Bearcats, back in the playoffs as usual, are gearing up for a familiar opponent in Paris tomorrow night.
They were district 13-4A rivals the past two seasons and now Texas High and Sherman meet again.
Their game last year at Bearcat Stadium was the turning point of the season. After their 30-17 win, Sherman was rolling.
The Tigers are a bit different this time around however, only winning three of their nine contests, but they're still bringing a hard nosed group of young men hungry for playoff success.
"They haven't put it all together yet this year in a single game. Their defense has played really exceptionally well all year, their offense has struggled at times. So, we obviously expect they'll put it all together for the playoffs, so that's the team we're preparing for. And we know playing them the last two years we know what kind of talent they have. So they're a team, definitely a tough first round opponent," said head coach Gary Kinne.
